Want to stay healthy? Working out and sports are not enough since health is more than just physical wellbeing. Problems that can make us stressed can occur every day. And to get balanced health – physically and psychologically - we should have a hobby done regularly that can provide mental stimulation and stress relief. Besides, hobbies can keep life interesting.

Home-Based Activities
Who says staying at home is boring? There are a loads of thing you can do at home. You can start from the outside to inside the home.

Playing with puzzles: This activity calls for great patience. It helps you forget your worries and focus on piecing together the bits and pieces. Make sure that you don’t lose any single piece of the puzzle or you’ll never be able to finish it.
Gardening: You can try it if you want. Pay attention to your garden and check all leaves and flowers. Don’t forget to check the soil as well: is it too dry, too wet, or just perfect. If the soil is too hard, you can loosen it to give the plants some oxygen. Don’t forget to water where needed.
Playing mechanic: Starting from a simple activity like washing your bicycle, motorbike, or car and polishing its wheels to checking the engine. Don’t be too hard on yourself. If you know nothing about the engine, just take the vehicle to real mechanic.
Cooking: Try a new recipe that can be enjoyed by your family and friends, If you’re still a newcomer in cooking try a simple recipe first. Snacks that are easily made and can pamper the tongue would be a good choice.
Redecorating your room: Painting the wall, changing the decoration, or simply cleaning the room and throwing away stuff that you don’t use anymore.
Painting: Just decide what kind of paint – water color, oil, or acrylic – and medium – canvas, fabric, glass, ceramic, or any other surface that can be painted – you want to use. Then let your creativity run riot in expressing yourself. Playing with colors can be really delightful!
Scrap booking: Think of moment you’d like to remember and collect the pictures of it. Write the stories and illustrate them with memorabilia. Scrap booking is a great way to rememner precious mements and people. Looking back on happy moments and wonderful people is a great way to relax and reduce stress.

Wherever You-Can-Do Activities
On a long flight, in a doctor’s waiting lounge, in a cafe – anywhere you are you can do these hobbies:
Drawing: Never leave home without your sketch book and your pencil, pen, or marker. An idea to draw can come any time.

Reading: A book can be your best friend since you can bring it anyplace. It doesn’t need to be a heavy tome which may make you look like a nerd. A small book that’s handy and can be put in your pocket or a small bag works just as well.
Origami: Some people are very good at this paper folding art. They can make anything they like using this technique. The ideal paper for this activity is, of course, origami paper, but you can surely use any piece of paper or plastic – like a candy wrapper – that you have in your bag. Just unleash your creativity.
Writing: A notebook and a writing utensil will help you do this hobby any time and anywhere you want. If you forget your notebook, just make good use of any piece of paper like a napkin, a used biill, an old parking ticket, or any other piece of paper you find in your bag.
Listening to music: Equip yourself with any gadget for this hobby, a cell phone with extra memory card card, MP3, or MP4 player. What you must remember is not to turn the music full blast when using these gadgets or you’ll bust your ears.

Outdoor Activities
Feel like doing something outside your house? Here are some ideas:

Travelling: Wherever you want to go, choosing the rigt companion is important. You don’t want to travel with a complainer, do you? Another thing is, always equip yourself with all the documents needed plus enough knowledge about your destination.
Hanging out with friends: What kind of places do you like to go? Malls, cafes, and sport centers are favorite places to hang out. Whatever your choice, eating and sharing with pals is fun. Just thing of your budget before you decide where to hang out.
Photography: Maximize the function of your camera. A sophisticated camera doesn’t guarantee good pictures if you don’t know how to operate it. So learn about the camera you have, find an object, and push the shutter button!
